Thesis title: Characterisation of slow release implants containing GnRHa used to synchronize spawning in salmon

Project description: Fish supplies for human consumption have expanded in recent years and a number of commercially important species do not reproduce in captivity. Since this is such an intensive industry, aquaculturists can not longer rely on broodstock, larva and fry from wild stocks. Implants containing GnRH-analogues are currently used, however they are labour-intensive to produce and furthermore can not be adjusted to fish size.
