Project description:  Drug delivery can be achieved in many ways. In my research I will be investigating arginine tagging of poly(ethly cyanoacrylate) PECA nanoparticles. Arginine tagging has become of interest in drug delivery as it can improve cellular uptake and enhance oral bioavailability. Arginine is acts as a cell-penetrating peptide (CPP) and the attachment of numerous arginine residues on the surface of the nanoparticles may facilitate absorption across gut epithelial cells.

In this project, I will investigate the stability arginine-tagged nanoparticles in simulated gastrointestinal media. The stability will be assessed using size and Zeta potential. Various equipment such as the Zeta-sizer, HPLC and qNano will be used to assist my research.
